Big congratulations to our very own Mrs. Reibert!
We are SO proud of our incredible instructional coach for being selected for the 2027 Kentucky Women in Education Leadership Cohort!
Following her induction in January, she will join Mrs. Joiner and Mrs. Thompson as part of this amazing network of women in educational leadership!
Old Mill is lucky to have her! 💙💛🐨

🌟 Koalas of the Month: Respect! 🌟
Being respectful isn’t just about good manners — it’s about listening, caring, and making choices that help others feel valued. These Koalas show respect by speaking kindly, working hard, following directions, and caring for our school community. They remind us every day that when we respect others, we all shine brighter! 🐨💙

Student Spotlight: Wade
We are so proud to shine this week’s student spotlight on Wade for being an amazing example of a Community Contributor!
As students were packing up at the end of the day, Wade noticed a classmate struggling to get his jacket on. Without being asked, Wade stepped in and offered to help. He patiently helped his classmate turn the jacket the right way and get it on, showing kindness, compassion, and a willingness to serve others.
Thank you, Wade, for noticing a need and choosing to help without being asked! Your thoughtful actions remind us that being a community contributor doesn’t always mean doing something big. Sometimes, it’s the small acts of kindness that make the biggest difference. You make our classroom and Old Mill a better place by setting such a wonderful example for others!

Pouring Back Into Those Who Pour Into Our Students! 🐨
Our Old Mill teachers have been putting in some LONG hours this week, pouring their hearts into our students and families during conference week! From preparing for meaningful conversations to staying late to connect with families, their dedication never goes unnoticed.
So, it was our turn to pour a little love back into THEM! 💙💛
🛎️ Our Leadership Team brought the Koala Suite right to our teachers’ doors with special room service deliveries and sweet treats!
💛 Our amazing PTO helped keep everyone fueled with snacks and dinner during those long conference nights!
It’s the little things that remind our teachers just how much they are valued and appreciated!
🔬👀 Young Scientists at Work at Old Mill!
Our 4th grade Koalas in Mrs. Watson’s class have been putting their scientific knowledge and creativity to work! Students used their research to design and build models of the eye, exploring how light reflects off objects and enters our eyes to help us see.
We love seeing our Koalas CREATE through hands-on, meaningful learning experiences!
🐨🌟 Student Spotlight: Lainey C.! 🌟🐨
Shoutout to Lainey C. for showing outstanding leadership in the classroom! 💙💛 Lainey consistently models our Koala CREATE expectations and leads by example. She also looks out for her classmates by offering gentle reminders when they need a little help getting back on track.
We are so proud of Lainey for demonstrating that leadership means setting a positive example, encouraging others, and helping our classroom community shine! ✨
Keep up the great work, Lainey! Way to show your Koala pride! 🐨
