✨ Staff Spotlight of the Week: Mrs. Jodi Osborne! ✨
Jodi is the definition of a team player. She brings positivity to every space she enters and always finds a way to make people smile. Students adore her, former students go out of their way to come back and see her, and current students can’t wait to share their day with her! We’re so grateful to have Mrs. Osborne as an essential part of our Old Mill family. 💛

🎄✨ Connecting Generations Through Learning! ✨🎄
Our 2nd graders are learning how different cultures across North America celebrate holidays and traditions and today they took that learning into our community! 💙
Students visited Sanders Ridge to interview residents about their favorite holiday memories and traditions. They’re working on a special project to preserve these stories and share a meaningful gift later in December. ❤️

As we head into testing, a few reminders to help our students do their very best:

These Koalas know how to make every minute count! They plan ahead, stay focused, and use their time wisely to get the job done without wasting a moment. We were honored to celebrate them with lunch, basketball, and a little air-hockey fun to recognize their hard work! They have a slide pass to use every day in December! Koalas CREATE!

Today we launched our 12 Days of Christmas staff celebration!
We enjoyed a cozy Popcorn Bar and added special ornaments that reflect who we are, our passions, our families, our unique personalities, and our love for our school community. 💛

Logan truly shined as an innovative problem solver! During an engineering challenge, he faced several tough obstacles—but never once gave up. Logan approached each setback with creativity and determination, always searching for a new solution. Even when things got challenging, he stayed calm and encouraged his partner, reminding them that all hope wasn’t lost.
His perseverance, teamwork, and positive attitude made all the difference. We are so proud of Logan’s hard work and the incredible endurance he showed from start to finish! 🚀💡

📚✨ This past week, Bullitt East biology students visited OMES to share the children’s books they created about cell organelles and their functions. Our K–2 students absolutely loved it! The high school students were wonderful community contributors—reading their stories, building connections, and engaging with our little learners. We are so grateful for their partnership with us ! 💛📖

Our 4th graders took on a real-world challenge—planning a full Thanksgiving meal on a $299 budget! 🦃
They rounded prices, calculated food quantities, and used multiplication, division, and estimation to make sure their plans were reasonable.
Such a fun + authentic way to bring math to life!
Our 5th graders became Revolutionary War journalists today! They took on different perspectives, analyzed primary sources, and gathered evidence to support their side. Such a powerful way to grow as Productive Collaborators and Effective Communicators!
Both our girls’ and boys’ teams finished as Runner-Up today, and we could not be more proud of how they represented our school on and off the court!
