We’re excited for another amazing event at Old Mill tomorrow—our 5th Grade A Walk Through History! Families are invited to attend during their child’s designated "Showtime," which has been shared by homeroom teachers.
If your assigned time is after 2:00 PM, please park in the bus lot (next to the cafeteria).
🪪 Don’t forget your ID when signing in!
👋 Families will be dismissed from the gym after their student’s presentation. Please note: the car rider line will not begin until 3:15 PM to help accommodate our extra guests.
We can’t wait to celebrate our young historians!

Back in school yesterday and what a day it was! Our amazing K-2 students wowed us with their Storybook Play performances — full of heart, creativity, and so much fun. A huge THANK YOU to all the families who came out to support our littlest learners. Your presence meant the world! It was truly a great day at OMES! 💙📚✨

This week's teacher spotlight goes out to Mrs. Bray. "Mrs. Bray is phenomenal! She plans with care, leads with heart, and brings out the best in her team. As team lead, she’s a huge part of making sure every student gets what they need to grow. We’re so lucky to have her at Old Mill!"

Shout-out to Kings Baptist Church for starting our week off right! They greeted our OMES parents with warm smiles and a hot cup of coffee on this beautiful Monday morning. We’re so grateful for your kindness and support!

Tomorrow is “Purple Up Day!” Purple Up Day is a day to recognize and support military children and their families, celebrated annually on April 15. It is part of the Month of the Military Child, which honors the sacrifices and challenges military children face. Let’s all wear purple tomorrow to show our support!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early tomorrow morning! 😊

Spring Carnival Family Competition
Help us make our new Natural Playground a happy place for students and wildlife!
Create a bird feeder or wind chime to enter. Please have your creation to the school by April 17th.
The top 2 of each will be displayed in the playground. Vote with tickets at the carnival—just like the Pumpkin Contest at the Fall Festival!

🎉 CHALLENGE ALERT! 🎉
Good morning! Today’s the day for a surprise challenge! Mrs. Joiner will POP IN to a random class meeting and pull one lucky student’s name for a special reward—lunch with the principal OR a round of HORSE on the basketball court—the winner’s choice!
💥 Students MUST be present in their class meeting to qualify, so pump them up during your morning meeting! No one knows when or where she’ll pop in, so be ready!

NTI Week Update
Starting today through the end of the week, all students will be participating in NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction). We miss our students so much and can’t wait to connect virtually!
Please make sure your child is following their teacher’s schedule and logging in at the designated meeting times. We’ve also got a few surprise activities planned to keep the week fun and engaging!
Safety remains our top priority as parts of our county are experiencing flooding. Thank you for your flexibility and support as we make the most of this situation—together.

Our seedlings are growing strong and soaking up the sunshine! It won’t be long before they make their way to our school garden. We can’t wait to watch our students nurture them and see the fruits (and veggies!) of their labor come to life!
