Dear Old Mill Elementary Families, Every two years, the Old Mill Elementary PTO conducts an election for parent representatives to serve on the School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council for the upcoming school year. We are currently accepting nominations for the 2025-2026 SBDM Parent Representatives for two positions. Any parent with a child attending Old Mill Elementary during the 2025-2026 school year is eligible to run. SBDM representatives are required to attend a training session (six hours for new members, three hours for returning members) and participate in monthly meetings. If you would like to nominate a parent candidate (or self-nominate), please complete the attached form. The nominee must sign the bottom of the form to confirm their acceptance of the nomination. Deadline for nominations: Friday, March 28, 2025 Should there be more than two nominees, an election will be held in April. The two nominees receiving the most votes will serve as the 25-26 OMES SBDM Parent Representatives. We appreciate your support in this important process! If you have any questions, please reach out. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6l62AWl9Fp6OQ6LlFVabkSU7yJb9T7uQUjf3RZ3VI1e7nCw/viewform

The smiles on our 5th graders’ faces said it all at this year’s Sneaker Ball! Before the dance, Mr. Ezell hosted an after-school shoe design session so students could create their own custom sneakers for the big night! Nights like this are what school memories are made of. 💙

Today, Hadley Boone showcased her skills as a productive collaborator and mastery learner in Mrs. Dixon's fourth-grade class! As part of the Gifted and Talented Program, Hadley designed an incredible lesson about Mammoth Cave 🦣🌍 to help students understand weathering and erosion — concepts that shape the world around us. 🏞️ Using her deep understanding of the topic, Hadley worked seamlessly with the students, guiding them through hands-on activities and discussions that brought the lesson to life. By connecting the fascinating world of caves to the everyday processes of erosion and weathering, Hadley demonstrated what it means to be a mastery learner — mastering both content and teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience. Her ability to collaborate with the class, making complex topics accessible and engaging, is a true example of her skills as a productive collaborator in action. 👏💡 We are so proud of Hadley for demonstrating the values of the Graduate Profile, and we can't wait to see how she continues to shine! ✨ #GiftedAndTalented #MasteryLearner #ProductiveCollaborator #MammothCave #WeatheringAndErosion #4thGradeLearning #STEM #GraduateProfile

The OMES Energy Team is getting their hands dirty for a greener future!
