A HUGE shoutout to some amazing community partners who helped make our first week back extra special! 💙💛 🥞 Church of the Crossroads kicked off our week by providing breakfast for our staff! 🍳 Our incredible PTO treated everyone to breakfast on Opening Day! 🥪 Sanders Ridge provided lunch for our staff on the first day of school! Starting a new school year takes a lot of energy, and these thoughtful gestures meant more than you know. Thank you for loving on our staff, feeding us well, and helping make our first week back that much better! We are so grateful to be part of a community that takes such great care of our Old Mill family. 💙🐨💛

We are so excited to officially welcome Officer B. Muzik to the Old Mill family as our new School Resource Officer! Officer Muzik will be a familiar face around our school, building relationships with students, supporting our staff and families, and helping us continue to make Old Mill a safe and welcoming place for every Koala!

Please take a moment to review our Arrival & Dismissal Expectations for car riders, bus riders, and walkers. A few reminders as we get started: 🚗 Have your car rider tag ready each day. 🚌 Please expect possible bus delays during the first few days as drivers learn their routes. 🚶 Walkers should arrive no earlier than 8:50 and enter through the front doors. 💙 Give us a little extra patience this first week as students, families, and staff settle into our routines. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our Koalas safe and get everyone where they need to be!

Today was one of those days that reminds us what is possible when a community comes together for kids. Our staff spent the morning connecting with incredible community partners, building relationships that will help bring authentic learning experiences into our classrooms this year. We are so grateful for each organization and business that welcomed us and shared how they can partner with Old Mill Elementary. This afternoon, our teachers hit the ground running! Together, we began planning our first units, diving into meaningful conversations about high-quality instruction, authentic learning, and creating the best possible experiences for our students. Here’s to a year filled with meaningful partnerships, innovative learning, and unforgettable experiences for our Koalas! 💙💛🐨

We are so thankful for everyone who has already volunteered to help! If you have a pressure washer and are planning to join us, we could really use a couple more to help get our campus looking its best before students return.

Old Mill Elementary is proud to celebrate Mrs. Joiner, Mrs. Thompson, and Mrs. Reibert for presenting at the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) Conference this week!

Their session highlighted the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and the intentional systems Old Mill has developed to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive. The presentation provided an opportunity to share the school's work with educational leaders from across Kentucky while also learning from innovative practices happening throughout the state.

Old Mill is grateful for the opportunity to represent Bullitt County Public Schools and share the collaborative work happening each day to support students, staff, and families.

We are so proud of Mrs. Rachel Troutman! 💙💛 Mrs. Troutman recently represented Old Mill Elementary at the Next Gen Leadership Academy, where she was selected as one of three teachers from across Kentucky, representing the elementary level, to share what vibrant learning looks like in action. She shared her journey of bringing vibrant learning to life in her classroom and highlighted how the support and conditions at both the school and district levels have helped make that work possible.
