Shout-out to Mrs. Welch’s class! While reviewing expectations, we talked about focusing on being productive collaborators. Before I could even continue, the students jumped right in and began identifying other Graduate Profile skills they knew they would need to be successful with their challenge.
Their awareness, reflection, and ownership of their learning were incredible to see. This class truly understands what it means to grow, work together, and strive for success. Way to go, Mrs. Welch’s class you’re shining examples of what learner empowerment looks like!

A huge thank you to A Cheap Tow, Salt River Electric, Valu Market Balloon, Logsdon Grading, and Mr. Tea for joining our OMES Pathways on Wheels event!
These amazing community members shared their expertise, tools, and experiences to show students how everyday careers and entrepreneurial ventures make a big impact in our community. From towing and construction to local business and creative services, students got a firsthand look at the skills, dedication, and creativity that drive these careers.
We are so grateful for their time and energy in helping our students explore the many ways they can make a difference in the world around them! 🛠️💡🎈

If your child missed our first Picture Day or you’d like them to retake their photo, they will have the opportunity to do so tomorrow at school.
Please make sure they are dressed and ready for pictures!

Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Biglari
“One of our friends wandered into Nutcracker choir practice last week, picked up a music folder, and joined the group with confidence. Mrs. Biglari responded with patience, joy, and seamless inclusion — exactly what makes our school so special. 💛
Her calm presence and genuine embrace of differences reflect the core values we strive to follow every day. Thank you, Mrs. Biglari, for creating a space where all students feel included and supported.

Mrs. O’Bryan represents everything it means to be an Old Mill Koala — dedicated, caring, innovative, and deeply committed to every child who walks into her classroom. Her students thrive because she builds strong relationships, creates joyful learning experiences, and believes wholeheartedly in their potential.
We are so proud to honor her with this well-deserved recognition.
Please help us celebrate Mrs. O’Bryan! 💛🤍💙

We want to recognize Penelope Burkhead for being an effective communicator! Penelope noticed a classmate who was upset and reached out with care, asking if they were okay and offering a hug. Her genuine compassion and kindness set a wonderful example for her fellow Koalas. We are so proud of her!

🌟 Koalas of the Month: Respect! 🌟
Being respectful isn’t just about good manners — it’s about listening, caring, and making choices that help others feel valued. These Koalas show respect by speaking kindly, working hard, following directions, and caring for our school community. They remind us every day that when we respect others, we all shine brighter! Here is a glimpse into our celebratory lunch! 🐨💙
