❄️ BCPS NTI: Wednesday, Jan. 28th and Thursday, Jan. 29th❄️
As winter storm effects continue to impact our area, Wednesday, January 28th, and Thursday, January 29th, will be Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days. All athletic and extracurricular events are canceled as well.
Please note that our buildings will remain closed on Wednesday, January 28th, as many of our facilities across the district are still being treated for snow and ice. We will continue to provide updates as soon as they are available. We are monitoring conditions closely.
At this time, if normal in-person instruction is not possible on Friday, January 30th, it will be observed as a traditional snow day. A decision for Friday will be determined and announced on Thursday, January 29th.
Stay safe and warm.

Huge shout-out to our BCPS Department of Facilities! ❄️
They have been working diligently to keep us up to date on the effects of the winter storm in our area. From checking on every one of our BCPS locations to already being out in the elements clearing snow from our sidewalks and parking lots, we see your hard work! 🚜🧤
We truly appreciate them ensuring the safety of our students and staff. Thank you for all you do! 🙌
While our Facilities team is hard at work, we’d love to see how the rest of our BCPS community is spending their time! ☃️☕️Share your snapshots here: https://forms.gle/4GRqc5oJaf96WWA66! Tuesday, January 27th: NTI Day #3 for BCPS
Due to ongoing winter weather conditions and effects, Bullitt County Public Schools will utilize a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Day for Tuesday, January 27th. All district and school facilities are closed, and extracurriculars are canceled.
Instruction will take place virtually. Students will complete their learning from home, and teachers will provide assignments and support throughout the day.
Our NTI Approach: As we navigate this winter storm and the lingering conditions caused by these freezing temperatures, please note that we do not like to exceed three (3) NTI days in a single week. We feel this is the best way to support our families, prevent "screen fatigue" for our students, and ensure that our school calendar stays on track.
Stay safe and we’ll provide more updates as soon as they are available.
#BCPS #MovingForward

❄️ BCPS Closed: Monday, January 26th ❄️
As predicted, hazardous winter weather has arrived in our area. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, Bullitt County Public Schools will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26th. This will be a TRADITIONAL SNOW DAY and all district and school facilities will be closed; all extracurriculars are canceled through Monday as well.
Looking Ahead: Winter conditions are expected to persist into the week. Due to this, we will re-evaluate road and facility conditions on Monday. Based on these conditions, an announcement for Tuesday, January 27th will be made for either a traditional snow day OR a NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) day. We will provide further updates as decisions are made.
Stay safe and warm.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Ms. Susannah Taylor at Eastside Middle School 🌟
Ms. Taylor is a powerful example of Service Before Self! When she saw a need in the EMS community, she took action by reviving and restocking the school pantry to support families in need. She’s doing it all on her own time, and even more inspiring, she’s brought her band students along with her to show them what it means to serve others.
In Ms. Taylor’s classroom, students are learning more than music. They’re learning compassion, leadership, and the importance of giving back. Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for the heart you pour into your students and your community!

With winter storms predicted in the forecast, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. As a result, all BCPS extracurricular activities, practices, and athletic events scheduled for this weekend (Saturday, Jan. 24th & Sunday, Jan. 25th) have been canceled.
Stay warm and safe.

His strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to doing his best shine through in everything he does. Hudson may be soft-spoken, but his impact in the classroom is anything but small. 💙

Ms. Parsons lives out Students Matter Most through her incredible work as band director. She creates a positive and encouraging space where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow both as musicians and as individuals.
Eve takes time to connect with her students, building confidence and passion through every rehearsal and performance. Her dedication reminds us all that students truly are at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you, Ms. Parsons, for using your talent, heart, and leadership to make a lasting impact! 💙🎶

❄️ BCPS NTI Day 2: Wednesday, January 21st
Due to forecasted icy road conditions and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students and staff, Wednesday, January 21st, will be NTI Day #2 for Bullitt County Public Schools.
At this time, road temperatures are below freezing and freezing rain is confirmed to be headed our way. We monitored conditions as long as possible to determine the best option to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Students will complete their learning from home, and teachers will provide assignments and support throughout the day.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate the winter weather season. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school.
Stay warm and safe!

🐄📚 Beyond the Bell | Amanda O'Bryan
This week, we’re at Old Mill Elementary with Amanda O’Bryan, BCPS 2026 Elementary School Teacher of the Year! From bringing real-world learning to life with community partners (yes—even a cow in the library!) to building strong relationships rooted in joy and trust, Ms. O’Bryan reminds us that meaningful learning starts with connection and belief in our students. 💙
Her message is simple and powerful: enjoy the kids, build relationships, and help every student believe in themselves. That’s how we move learning forward...together.

Reminder: There is no school on Monday, January 19th, as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
As we strive to keep "Moving Forward", we celebrate the students, teachers, and staff who lead with kindness and work toward a brighter, more unified future in our hallways and neighborhoods.
Dr. King famously said, "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."
Enjoy your day. We look forward to seeing everyone back in class on Tuesday! 📚

Celebrating Innovation in Education: BCPS at FETC 2026! 🚀
We are incredibly proud of our Digital Learning Coach, Ashley Marker, for representing Bullitt County Public Schools at the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) this week! Ashley’s presentations highlighted how BCPS is leading the way in integrating AI with both confidence and care.
Coaching at Every Level 🧠 Ashley led a session titled "AI at Every Level: Coaching Teachers with Confidence & Care," where she shared a framework for supporting educators at every stage of AI readiness. From the "Anxious Beginner" to the "Confident Integrator," Ashley demonstrated how to bridge the gap between technology and the classroom with empathy and clarity.
A First-of-Its-Kind Partnership 🤝 Ashley also co-presented a poster session alongside Sarah Bhatia from Slingshot to showcase a groundbreaking student support app. This AI-powered tool, co-created with students, helps middle and high schoolers navigate challenges like bullying in a safe, private, and student-friendly way.
This project is the result of a powerful coalition including:
🔵Sarah Smith, BCPS Director of Safe Schools
🔵Allison Robinson, BCPS Safe Schools Grant Coordinator
🔵The Bullitt County Youth Coalition
A huge thank you to Slingshot for donating this initiative as part of their 20th-anniversary community contribution. Together, we are ensuring our learning environments are safe, innovative, and restorative.
Way to go, Ashley and the entire BCPS team! 👏

Keep leading the way, Pari! #MovingForward #BCPSSelfDirectedNavigator

Huge shout out to our McKinney-Vento program for being featured in December's Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) newsletter! We are so proud of the work being done to support our students and raise vital awareness in our community.
Here are a few highlights from the feature:
✨National Recognition: Our very own, Tiffany Reynolds, represented Bullitt County on the national stage at the NAEHCY Conference in Dallas. She presented expert strategies on increasing McKinney-Vento awareness through effective training and outreach.
✨24-Hour Homeless Challenge: The newsletter also highlighted the recent 24-hour outdoor challenge held on November 20th. During which the team came together to provide food, hygiene products, and cold weather gear to those in need under the theme "Go Green for Good".
✨Community Impact: This event, now in its second year, coincided with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and featured insights from local partners like Mark 12 Ministries and Sycamore Farm.
We are honored to see these efforts recognized statewide as we continue to advocate for educational stability and success for all students.
